“Mother darksome and divine
Mine the scourge and mine the kiss.
Five-point star of life & bliss,
Here I charge ye in this sign.”

-Doreen Valiente, “The Charge of the Goddess”, verse version

“And thou shalt be the first of witches known;
And thou shalt be the first of all i’ the world;
And thou shalt teach the art of poisoning…”

-Charles G. Leland, Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches

“White magic is poetry.
Black magic is anything that actually works.”

-Victor Anderson, Grandmaster of the F(a)eri(e) tradition

Witchcraft as a global term defies a complete definition. To some it is a dark and fearful reminder of a spiritual war being waged in every country on earth between the forces of good and evil… to others it is the survival of an ancient European religion of prosperity, healing, and prophecy, presided over by a goddess and a horned god.  To some it is an intellectual exercise, using symbolic rituals to unlock hidden potentials in the human mind. However it is viewed, those who practice can agree that it is a system of magic that fosters relationships with spirits in order to help alter events and cause change. And when that change occurs, even to the staunch intellectual, it cannot be so easily explained.

Conjure, as it has come to be known, is a uniquely American phenomenon. The syncretic blending of folk-magic beliefs of African slaves, Indigenous Americans, and Western Europeans, particularly in the American South, this system of practical magic has gone by many names; hoodoo, rootwork, hedge witchery, to name a few, and has spread throughout the United States, and the world beyond.

As a professional warlock I offer magical services to the public, such as setting lights, and crafting mojos/charms. The main form of magic that I teach is informed by my studies of Conjure as well as the Faery/Feri tradition of witchcraft. It is a crooked road; bending between the left-hand path of practical sorcery, and the right-hand path of spiritual attainment.
