"Return of the Peacock Angel"

This is a self-portrait as Melek Ta'us, the Peacock Angel. In the Feri tradition of Witchcraft, Melek is a form of the Blue God who is a personification of our own Divine natures, and by extension, the Divinity of collective humanity. Here wearing a hand sculpted mask I have invoked my own Higher Self in an effort to extend my awareness as the angelic presence extends its celestial wings, opening the many peacock eyes that see into the Universe. The earthen black serpent glows with the green flame, and twined upon my feet both grounds this experience into the physical, while also rising in the form of the kundalini on the path toward enlightenment. On a personal level this is my spell to invoke these particular qualities, while as a meditative mandela it is a reminder that each of us possess the powers of God within us.
